Free Movie Night in Hudson Falls

The World Cinema Series continues on Thursday evening November 20th at 7pm with a FREE screening of Pedro Almodóvar's 1988 comedy, "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown"!

I started my Almodóvar journey like many with his award winning masterpiece, "All About My Mother" in 1999 (I didn't see it until 2001). Then another award winning masterpiece, "Talk To Her", followed by the Hitchcockian, "Bad Education" in 2004, yet another masterpiece, "Volver" in 2006, "Broken Embraces" in 2009, etc. I was impressed! He's still out there making incredible and original cinema!

"Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" was far from being hist first film, but it was the one that would become his first critical and commercial success! This magnificent and hilarious film quickly established Almodóvar as a "women's director". Apparently he has stated on more than one occasion that "women make better characters"! The film scored many awards worldwide (including a nod from the Academy as well)! The film was such a huge success that it was later adapted into a Broadway musical in 2010!

An entertaining and hilarious film! If you're in the area, stop by and enjoy this masterpiece on the BIG screen for FREE!
