Latest Change at 'Target' Stores Is Really Upsetting Shoppers

Target shoppers are becoming disgruntled because stores nationwide are closing self-checkouts early with only a few employees, resulting in huge queues during off-hours at normal check-out counters. The US Sun reports that most Target stores open at 7 or 8 am and close at 10 or 11 pm, although self-checkouts are closed during various off-hours, and many close at 8 pm. Staffing is also low during off-hours. Shoplifting is the primary cause, as inventory loss has increased over the past year or two, as reported by Business Insider. MSN reports that some self-checkouts close at 6 pm. What are your thoughts on self-checkout? Does it speed up your shopping trips?
