Favorite Christmas Movies By State

Favorite Christmas movies! We all have at least one favorite one we love to pull out and watch with the family around Christmas. A new survey was conducted by this film & culture sight, PixlParade asking: "What is America's Favorite Christmas Movie"!? They polled around 2,000 Americans across 50 states with a list of 27 movies released in the last 50 years that were ranked highest according to IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes & according to "highest grossing".

In Vermont it was: "A Christmas Story"

In New York it was: "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

In New Hampshire it was: "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

My wife & I also have a Christmas Movie List and if you're curious to watch them they are:

"It's A Wonderful Life" (1946) I think most (if not all) can say that this transcends beyond "Christmas Movie" into "Essential" or "Greatest Films Of All Time" territory!

"Fanny & Alexander" (1982) A Swedish film that focuses on an entire year of a family's triumphs & struggles. The first part in this five hour masterpiece, has to be the greatest family Christmas Party ever put on a film!

"Eyes Wide Shut" (1999) This may seem like an "out there" choice, but the film takes place right around Christmas time. Filmmaker, Stanley Kubrick did this on purpose to kind of critique the materialistic aspects of the holiday (amongst other things).

"Die Hard" (1988) Isn't this the ultimate "Christmas Eve" movie or what!?

"In Bruges" (2008) Most definitely not a family Christmas film! Two hitmen on vacation in Belgium during Christmas after a hit goes wrong. It is an extremely "dark comedy" and is a good alternative for the feel good Christmas movies!
