FREE MOVIE NIGHT IN HUDSON FALLS

The World Cinema Series continues at The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls on Thursday January 29th with a FREE screening of Jean Cocteau's classic re-telling of the timeless fairytale, "Beauty & The Beast" from 1946!

Growing up as an 80's kid, I was more than familiar with the TV series from 1987-1990 that my grandmother loved to watch (I wasn't a fan LOL), then along came the award winning animated musical version from Disney in 1991,the live action re-make and at least a dozen other film and musical adaptations.

Jean Cocteau's 1946 classic remains the definitive version though and faithfulness to the fairytale. The film's design, makeup and visuals were all influential and continue to inspire 80 years after it's release! Stevie Nicks wrote her 1983 ballad, "Beauty And The Beast" after seeing this version at least a couple of times and the 1991 animated Disney version even visually pays tribute, notably the living furniture.

A timeless story & film! See it for free on January 29th and be prepared to be stunned (just like I was almost 25 years ago when I first saw it)!
