My wife & I had a date night and watched the supernatural horror sequel, "Black Phone 2" at the Glen Twin Drive In Queensbury! She really liked the first film and I thought it was above average. I had no expectations for the sequel.

The film picks up four years after the first film (1982) and follows the two children from the first film both still struggling with the events of the first film! The story focuses more on Gwen this time around and the dreams (visions) she keeps having. Ethan Hawke returns as The Grabber! This time showing up in dreams (kind of like Freddy Krueger). To sum it up, it's not bad actually. Instead of just brother & sister like the first film, it focuses on the entire family which I liked to a certain degree. Unfortunately, I still didn't think we needed a sequel to the film. The first film tackled everything nicely and thought a sequel was not necessary. They did it anyhow and although it wasn't bad, the film did drag on 15-20 minutes longer than it needed to go and is more obvious and predictable than it needed to be. Overall though, not bad!
