Movie Review-Clown In A Cornfield

A new horror film is out in theaters! A great opportunity to add another episode to our one hundred plus podcast shows!

Surprisingly the new slasher film, "Clown In A Cornfield" is playing inside the Aviation Mall theatre in Queensbury! I didn't realize it at the time but "Clown In A Cornfield" was first a series of novels that began in 2020 written by Adam Cesare and the film was directed by cult filmmaker Eli Craig ("Tucker and Dale vs Evil") and the plot is simple: A midwestern town faces a deadly killer dressed as Frendo The Clown (A symbol of the town's bygone era) that is dispatching teenagers one by one! There's a sub-plot dealing with a father & daughter, new to the town running away from their fears and tragedy starting anew.

There are plenty of twists, but no surprises and the so-called twists are not executed the best in my opinion. Overall, it was an OK one-time watch slasher. I never read the book so I'm not sure how they compare, but after seeing this, I have no interest in reading it. By the way, there's three books total in the series, so if the film does well, you can bet they'll make the other two into films!
