Another Friday night at the Aviation Mall movie theatre in Queensbury! This time, the 6th installment in the Final Destination franchise.
It has been years since I've watched any film within this franchise. I have never been a fan. I've always thought that the concept was just an excuse to show grotesque deaths for 90 minutes. I was not expecting much here, except for something to talk about for our podcast.
First, the best scene in the film (and the franchise) was when Tony Todd appeared. This was Tony Todd's final film and his scene in the film was poignant and bittersweet as he lost his fight to stomach cancer in November of last year!
Although the filmmakers tried to balance a story in between all of the gruesome killings, it didn't work for me. I was not the target audience for this. The audience was laughing and having a great time, but not me! If there's violence in a film, it has to have a purpose for me. Also, with a run time of almost two hours, I feel twenty-thirty minutes could've been shaved off.
If you're a fan of this franchise, then you'll love "Final Destination Bloodlines"!
