It's been a crazy start of the "Summer Season" and I haven't been to the Aviation Mall cinemas as much as I've wanted to.

My wife & I saw "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning" a few weeks ago and we both enjoyed (her much more than me). Tom Cruise's stunts are nothing less than amazing & jaw dropping (I mean he set the Guinness World record for the soon to be legendary burning parachute stunt)! To be honest though, if you take out the incredible stunt sequences in the film (and there's a few of them), it's very forgettable unfortunately. It's not terrible! It's an entertaining one time watch for sure. For me, there's not enough to warrant a 170 minute running time. I would highly recommend watching this on the biggest screen and best sound system possible as its definitely made for the biggest screen possible! Will this be the final Mission: Impossible? I'll let YOU decide that!

Two Fridays ago, I saw the new supernatural horror film, "Bring Her Back"! Made by the twin brother filmmakers, Danny and Michael Philippou (AKA RackaRacka) from Australia, who just a few years earlier made the biggest supernatural horror flick, "Talk To Me" (which I actually liked a lot)! This film doesn't reach the same heights as "Talk To Me", but it's still quite the interesting. It's more complex and more to the story than their previous film. A lot of the films power comes from Sally Hawkins' brilliant (and deranged) performance. It doesn't delve as deep as I thought it needed to. Thankfully there is some humor to help lighten up one of the bleakest films of the year so far. If you love supernatural horror, this film is worth a watch!
