I was thankful and grateful that my wife, Nicole did not want to see "Practical Magic 2". I mean she did, but, when I showed her the trailer for the new sci-fi, action, thriller & monster film from South Korea, "Hope" and she was all excited! At this point, I'm excited too, but I certainly hope this film was worth the time! The film is nearly three hours, plus we had to drive an hour south to Albany to see it! Quite the investment!

The basic plot of the film revolves around a small village literally named: "Hope Harbor" (Yes it's a fictional town)! The chief is asked by his second cousin and his fellow hunters to investigate the death of this cow who has these strange, gaping wounds! The hunters think it may be a stray tiger , but more dead cattle are discovered later! When the chief returns to town, he makes more alarming discoveries!

To say any more would be spoiling the fun that the film provides. It was decent film for the most part! Filmmaker Na Hong-jin really knows how to build suspense and tension! The action is top notch and the momentum keeps going, but unfortunately at the end it falls apart a tad! Na Hong-jin reveals all of the surprises and twists way too soon and it does drag the film down a bit. The film unfortunately does end suddenly! Again, I will not reveal anymore. Despite the flaws and the film falling apart near the end, it's still a solid film overall and is worth a watch!
