Mariah Carey has officially kicked off the Christmas season with her annual holiday announcement video, declaring "It's Time!" on November 1. This year's video features a unique twist, showcasing Carey in a punk-inspired look as she performs the lesser-known song "Hermit" before transitioning into her iconic festive persona atop a giant Christmas tree. The choice of "Hermit," from a 1995 alternative rock album, highlights a lesser-known chapter of Carey's career, which she revealed in her memoir. Carey's November 1 videos have become a social media sensation, humorously marking her "defrosting" for the holiday season. Her classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" continues to dominate the charts, solidifying its status as a holiday staple.
