‘Scrubs’ Is Back: ABC Orders Reboot with Original Stars and New Characters

It’s happening: Scrubs is officially making a comeback. ABC has greenlit a revival of the beloved medical comedy, reuniting original stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke in their iconic roles as J.D., Turk, and Elliot.

The new series will follow J.D. and Turk as they face the evolving world of modern medicine—and the changes happening at a very different Sacred Heart Hospital. Expect a mix of fresh faces and familiar ones, as the show blends new storylines with the heart and humor that made Scrubs a fan favorite.

Series creator Bill Lawrence is returning, along with several original writers and producers, ensuring the reboot keeps its signature tone. While the full cast list hasn’t been confirmed, Judy Reyes is reportedly in talks to reprise her role as Nurse Carla.

The revival is expected to premiere midseason on ABC.
