The first day brings the traditional Polar Plunge, taking place at Shepard Park Beach in Lake George.
Hundreds line the shore awaiting the first wave at 1pm. Those interested in joining the crew in the icy waters can sign up on New Year's Eve from 11am to 5pm at Duffy's Tavern, and on New Year's Day starting 10:30am. It's $10 to sign up which benefits the Special Olympics.
