Movie Review-Passenger

I saw the new supernatural horror film, "Passenger" in Queensbury over the weekend. The preview didn't grab me, the director André Øvredal was responsible for the dreadful "Last Voyage Of The Demeter", however; one of the screenwriters was Zach Donohue from the Shoreham & Ticonderoga area, so that had me intrigued. I always like to consume art from a local or reginal artist, so I gave it a go!

I can say that the film was a major improvement over "The Last Voyage Of The Demeter"! This was not a Dracula movie, but a film that deals with other supernatural entities! Also dealing with themes of commitment, rootlessness vs. domesticity and also moral reckoning! I won't spoil anything, but the film doesn't start off too bad, but the final act goes off the rails and becomes too absurd! Yes it's just a movie, but the ending kind of felt like the filmmakers and the studio said: "We need to end this film NOW"! It just seemed thrown together and rushed. Even at a 95 minute running time, it STILL did feel kind of long. It's too bad. I thought it was an interesting premise, but the execution was just not there!
