Chipotle Made a Song Using Actual Vegetables as Instruments

Chipotle just found a very unusual way to turn its ingredients into music.

The restaurant chain teamed up with the London Vegetable Orchestra to record an original song called “From Ground to Sound” at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

And every instrument was made from actual vegetables.

The musicians created flutes from corn, trumpets using jalapeños, a horn made from peppers and an avocado pit, lettuce percussion and even an onion bass.

According to Chipotle, the project took about three months of experimenting because fresh produce doesn’t exactly make the most predictable musical instrument. The vegetable instruments also had to be built, tuned and recorded within a matter of hours before their sound began to change.

The finished song uses ingredients you’d normally find inside Chipotle restaurants and is meant to become part of the company’s signature sound in future advertising.

“From Ground to Sound” is now available on Spotify and Apple Music, and Chipotle has also released a video showing how the vegetable-powered track came together.

So apparently your burrito bowl has been hiding a music career this entire time.
